Not yet, still am wary of trying. The chalices that I saved in my frag tank have taken off nicely in the display again so maybe I will try again. Here is a top down I took of the larger colonies. Almost all grown from frags.

Beautiful! I can imagine how discouraging it can be...all that money, time and patience put into it. Good to hear three chalices are recovering well!

That’s the hard part with acans and scolys, they just do great and then out of nowhere they melt away. I just lost two big colonies of acans and two great scolys within 3 days. They sat in the tank for two years doing great. No apparent reason. They are true beauties though. Have two nice open brains still in that tank doing very well. Go figure.

Hello! I wanted to jump in and post a quick shot of my favorite acans in my tank. I have more and ill post later, but for now (at work) i have this one available. I think aside from my toadstool leather, my acans are my favorite corals. i lvoe watching them eat, and they grow so quickly!

Beautiful polyps! I've never had a toadstool/leather but I'm thinking of getting one. What do you like about your toadstool?

Those came from my dads tank. They were dying and almost gone. He brought them to me bc mine are fat as can be. so they've opened up and have really nice color. Hope they keep growing.

Where is the best placement for acans? Is sandbed ideal? I have some up high that appear to be doing pretty well.

WOW! Awesome growth! Can't wait til mine starts growing. I think I see a new little head starting to sprout on mine! I gotta check under the whites though to be sure. When I get home from work blues are already on and it's hard to tell.

That's awesome. I gotta check and see how much is shipping to Florida. I try not to pay over $40 for shipping and obviously prefer $20 - $30... or FREE if they have one of those "purchases over $$ ships free" deals.

I honestly dont feed much. When I feed my fish I broadcast feed the corals. Sometimes a take my "julian's thing" and target all my lps

Mid to lower level placement. They seem to adapt well and can do well under low to moderate flow/lighting and their growth patterns allow for easy sandbed placement and add a nice pop of color to your otherwise plain sandbed. If he's doing well, then leave him, but be careful not to over do the lighting.
