I lied. The 'Post New Thread' button & I are really close these days. I'm like a moth to a flame.

Let's play show & tell! : )

Post a picture of your favourite fish & coral from your very own aquarium! Tell me why they are your favourites.

Here are my favourites:

I look forward to seeing all of your favs!

OK, I'll bite. As there is no picture in you post, I am assuming it is because your tank is still empty?

I can't say that I have a favorite individual fish or coral, but I am a fan of clams. Here is a pic of one of my croceas, with a little bit of a derasa on the side.

I do not have recent photos, but I have a few old favorites. Sorry if you have seen them before. I know I have posted these before.

I've been using Photobucket for a number of years, but the site acts up a lot lately. I guess I need to switch to a more reliable site. What photo hosting site are you guys using lately?

JSB, your clam is absolutely stunning! Such beautiful colours...

Oh my goodness, Tomoko! Your Mandarin pair is the sweetest thing I have ever seen... In that second picture it looks like they are kissing. : )
& I have been using tinypic, but it acts up from time to time...

Well, I can tell you ompldr.org is blocked by NASA's filter.

Over on the archlinux.org forums there is a monthly screenshot thread where geeks from all over the world post pictures of how they've configured their computer desktop -- not just where they've placed their windows, but often the code used to make it happen. Many post them (and other helpful "how to use Linux" illustrations in other threads) to ompldr.org and those are all blocked.

I just went to that site directly (from home) -- about 1 in 30 of the "random" photos posted there had naked body parts.

Editorializing self-censored.

But, thanks for asking the question, because I'm seeking a photo hosting site too.

Reilly uses Picasa to upload his cell phone photos to view them on our big screen TV easily. It works very well for that.

Emily - I love these mandarin photos, too. They move relatively slowly, but the photos still turned out a bit blurry. I also have a video of them, but photobucket is acting up and cannot display it without stopping every second.

i use photobucket for pics and youtube for vids
Sorry I dont have pics but my favorite coral is either pink lemonade acro or a tri color acro I got from H@rry. The tri color has turned into a nice mini colony since I got it in April and the pink lemonade has only been in my tank for a couple weeks and hasnt done much other than encrust, but it should take off soon.
My favorite fish I have owned is a coral beauty. I know many see it as not reef safe and others think they are just beginner fish, but I love them. Out of my current fish It is hard to decide between the blue flasher wrasse and the diamond goby. Both have excellent personality. For fish I have never owned, it powder blue tang all the way.

Here are a couple of mine. My clown aways hangs in the frog

Warning: Off-topic Freshwater Photo

Well, I went with a used Pentax K10D DSLR body to go with my Pentax lenses.

My daughter decided to commandeer the 1.6 gallon hex tank I had, and will get a betta for it in a few weeks or so. So, I used the tank to test the camera. I have a lot to learn about the camera controls.

I forgot that I used Youtube for uploading videos before. I found one of them. I don't know what happened to the rest.
Let's see if we can see this one here. This is a video I took with a good microscope at work. It's a Pseudomugil egg which was ready to hatch in a few hours. Unfortunately it's not salt water fish, but I think it's still interesting. You can see its big eyes and tiny heart beating.

I don't know how to embed a Youtube video. It never work successfully for me. Does anyone know how?

Copy the URL of the video from the location bar at the video site. In your case, it is:
HTML:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8TrnRC0Vp0&feature=youtu.be

Then click on the Filmstrip Icon in the toolbar above the post edit box.

Paste the URL into the "Enter your video clip URL below:" box and submit it. That is all there is to it.

Thank you, Scott.

I was trying the embed code that share button below the video displays, but that never seems to work.

Yeah, it would seem to me (and you) that if you want to embed a video, you would use the embed code. But alas, that is not the case. I struggled with it a while back until I had my "Ah Hah" moment.
