Hey guys,

Going to be buying an ATO within the next couple of weeks and have been really curious what everyone uses for their RODI water reservoir?

I was originally thinking a 2.5g or 5g tank, and just putting that in my stand...but from another thread it seems that is out of the ordinary. Most people had covered plastic or acrylic containers.

So please, show off your ATO reservoir. Right now mine is either going to be a small tank or a HD 5gal bucket...nothing too exciting.

Can't get a picture until I get home from work but for now I have a 5 gallon, square, plastic jug from my LFS. They sell the water in those so I have about 5 of them sitting around full of RODI (I don't have an RODI unit yet). Once the one that is being used in empty, I Just change out the jugs. Hoping to get something a little more fancy for Christmas.

Here is mine. The left tank holds my Ro/Di and when I need it I pump the water to the right tank and then add the correct amount of salt to the container. I then set the pump to turn on for 15 minutes every hour to keep the salt mixed up. They are both 25g containers.

I have a water-cooler style ATO reservoir that is made with a five gallon bucket from Soda Ash (used for my pool) and five gallon water jugs.

The top of the bucket was re-enforced with a ½ piece of plexiglass:

It’s hard to see the clear plexi in the above photo, so here’s the plexi by itself:

The plexi was attached to the lid with four nylon bolts (where the plexi was tapped to accept the threaded bolt.)

This style of ATO was done for a couple reasons.

1. I make my water in these five gallon jugs
2. The siphon point is at the level of the five gallon bucket. By using a water-cooler style, I can add the additional five gallons of water while maintaining a low siphon point.
3. Ease of adding the next jug.

The blue bucket. It is a gravity system.

I use a 32 G brute container. It holds my RO/DI and my ATO pump is just down inside it.

I made a 16 gallon reservoir out of ¼" glass number of years ago. Here is it inside of my old 75 gallon tank's stand. It is now on my 140. Many years of service.

I'm just using a 6 gallon water can for now, the new one will be built in time. Its similar to the one Rick posted below, but thats all I'm saying about it.

I filled one of those for about 3 yrs. Then had to lug it halfway across the house full of water. I am not missing those days :D
