I filled one of those for about 3 yrs. Then had to lug it halfway across the house full of water. I am not missing those days

I will have that option when I finally move into a house. I plan to plumb things up the way you have yours then. Maybe even something to make water changes easier.

i would have to disagree, sure you can put a bucket or any other type of container for a few bucks or free. but if you want something custom for your tank, or something astheticly pleasing to the eye, you are going to pay. For something that is hand crafted, and extremely well built, Rick's prices are very reasonable.

I'm not saying the materials and craftsmanship aren't worth the money, I'm just saying that's a lot of dough for something that's only job is to hold top off water.

I considered having a local acrylic guy make me a nice looking container and the price was high, but I was willing to pay, until a layoff hit unexpectedly.
So for now I'm happy with my 16 gallon dog food container. lol

Aquariums for water storage?! Why didnt I think of that! Ive been racking my brain looking for a suitable storage containers. Ive got spare wood... Time to build a rack in the basement!

These are great. Very sturdy. I use one for a sump under my nano.

I have a tank setup next to my TS. I conceal it using an old trunk, that doubles as a coffee table.

Mine is just built into my sump - 5g in the back center. It'll be hooked up to the apex and I will have the RO/DI plumbed to the this chamber. I will only turn it on to fill it up, and will utilize a float valve in case I forget occasionally. With float switches in place for redundancy as well.

I had mine made to match the depth and height of my sump, so it looks like all one unit. It holds 17 gallons which lasts me a week in the summer, and it looks like maybe longer in the winter. I use a Tunze Osmolator.

5 gallon water container. Works great for me. I had the idea of drilling a hole in the bottom of it and another one, feeding a tube to connect them and then it would be a 10 Gallon ATO. It’s nice and hidden under my desk.

Hey guys,

Going to be buying an ATO within the next couple of weeks and have been really curious what everyone uses for their RODI water reservoir?

I was originally thinking a 2.5g or 5g tank, and just putting that in my stand...but from another thread it seems that is out of the ordinary. Most people had covered plastic or acrylic containers.

So please, show off your ATO reservoir. Right now mine is either going to be a small tank or a HD 5gal bucket...nothing too exciting.

Stand it up, drill out the big hole, drop in the tunze pump, ready to go.
