We all know Mandarin fish right?
When was the last time you see this?

I have 1 of those before and over 16 months, I think I saw that for like a few seconds

Mine did that all day long. Every single time he went to the edge of the tank to see his reflection there was a nice show. Until he eventually decided to jump to the other side and attack that evil twin.

I don't think those signal blennies have ever been caught for the trade, maybe a few times for Asia max.

I asked a supplier here in the U.K. about these fish a few months ago but was told they wouldn't do well in our tanks as they prefer cooler waters to most other fish we keep. Not sure how true it is but I was told they are far better off left in the ocean!

Sea of Cortez is indeed cooler temp than most of us keep our tanks, but a tank with a small group of them, a group of catalina gobies, and a blue spot jaw would be great.

Unfortunately, the sailfin signal blenny isn't collected. It's not due to newness of being discovered, in fact the aquarium industry often has fish in the trade well before being given a formal scientific name. It really has much more to do with the species being targeted for collection by the one going out and collecting.

Quality marine had them about a year ago. They were tiny, but not expensive. Seems they got one large shipment, then just didn't get them again.

Lol yeah, I had three in my tank and the biggest one beat up the other two guys and killed them. Lesson learned on that one.

I meant the part "Mine did that all day long" and you know that! Any way I have not seen or heard about these jump but I have heard and seen the red scooter blenny jump...

i think they normally don't jump but my tank is just 9 inches tall. Still I was shocked the only other fish in there is a pajama cardinal and he's not aggressive.
