I stumbled on this pump not too long ago and picked one up to help with doing water changes on some stock tanks and a few other tasks. Well I also found out what I think to be a great use....a saltwater mixing pump. It is weighted and draws water from 2mm of bottom of your container. Really moves after from bottom to top well! Just wanted to share.

That’s cool. It looks pretty powerful @793 gph. I mix in a brute using a mag drive. I could see it hitting the ceiling. :D

What are you mixing the water in. I also use the return line from the mag drive to pump the water into the tank. It is kinda slow with 1/2 hose. Are you using the pump to fill the tanks along with mixing? Mat get one if not too $$

I mix my water in a 120 gallon container and it has no problem with a that water volume or a 4 ft height. I do use it to fill tank back up as well. You can pick one up for about $100.

Updates?
I’m thinking about buying this to replace my jebao pumps to mix water and for manual W/C’s.

my only concern is the hi wattage vs. most other brands with similar gph.

is the pump worth double wattage?
Feedback would be great!

Do you really need to pay $100 for a salt mixing pump though?
I don’t. I did go the cheaper route and purchased the jebao, I’m just not happy with them. They work flawless, they just don’t let me sleep very well.

So I’m considering the following brands in order, Sicce, Eheim or LifeGard around 750gph.

If it's quiet you want, would a powerhead not be better, that's what I use for mixing but if also needed for pumping W/c water that wouldn't work.

Yes, I’m looking for both mixing and distributing. I also use to fill DI tip-off.

There's a pump from the Inkbird people that is $35 and 50w. It's sold on amazon.

That's half the wattage and and one third the price of the Sicce. I think it's in the 600gph range. I have it running as a return pump on my frag tank. I forgot the actual brand name, but will get if off the pump for those interested.

I think it is worth it because of the multiple uses. Can be a mixing pump, water changes pump (check out reefdudes latest video) and awesome to drain a tank or any vessel if water.

Not sure why anyone would spend that kid of money for a utility pump to mix water, water changes, drain reservoirs to the bottom, ect. when there are a myriad of pond pumps that do the exact same thing between $30-40.

The purpose is to buy a reliable brand that won’t rust, catch fire, built to last etc.

How loud is it? Louder than a regular pump?

Works great. Only negative is size compared to a small power head. So it needs a bit more room. Certainly worth the price. Really does a great job clearing detritus in the sump. No need to stir it up anymore
