If this is for me, mcmaster carr for the hose.Where did you find it in black?
This. BTDT also!Do yourself a favor and go black the first time. Save you the trouble of pulling out the clear algae covered hose later.
Ask me how I know.
Thank you for the link, I just ordered it. It is substantially cheaper than anywhere I have found and if for whatever reason I dont like it its now easy to return.
You don't need 35psi rated hose for a aquarium application. Nothing out there in the hobby grade will even reach that kind of psi rating. Your more than over thinking this.
I've been using the 1/8 inch thick, 5 psi rated stuff for years, never had a line fail or burst. Avoid the 1/16 thick stuff, the hose has a tendency to collapse on its self with negative pressure.
Fair enough. Lets be real, If you are running those pumps flat out with minimal head hight to force those pressure numbers, I wouldn't trust much if any soft hose and definitely wouldn't be using silicone in those application(s).The abyzz makes 12PSI and Ecotech makes close to 10, close off a valve and you'll burst the thin-wall silicone hose.
I recommend quality hoses if you want to sleep at night.

Glad it works for you, but no semi clear anything for me @ all. There is plenty of proper silicone tubing pressure rated at 30-40PSI without any reinforcements needed that will allow anybody using it ease of use and no sleep loss.
I've explained that at the end of the thread here.

Where to buy silicone tubing
I’m trying to plumb my return pump and I’d like a short section of silicone between my pump and pvc plumbing. I am using a Vectra L2 with 1.5” plumbing to help reduce friction loss. For the life of me I cannot find soft silicone tubing in that size. The biggest BRS carries is 1”. Any ideas?www.reef2reef.com
