So I been feeding my anemone Reef Roids and Mysis shrimp , noticed that it had grown from 3 inches to like 7 and decided to purchase for it some bigger food ..
went with some frozen silver sides but I been reading all kinds of posts of them being dangerous for them and can kill them ??
Should I just stick with the frozen Mysis and Reef Roids....
today I fed him a silver side and he eat it all...
I think I made a mistake of feeding before asking ..I just saw so many videos of people feeding their anemone silver sides and shrimp ...
I know this is probobly a ver dumb question that I am asking sorry ...

the only dangers i could see are.

Any animal that is exclusively fed one species of prey will be missing some vital amino acids, vitamins, and minerals in comparison to its needs. ie salmon is high in some amino acids and low in others. Bears eat lots of salmon but supplement their other dietary needs with fruits and prey species.
The animal in question is unable to digest all of the prey and lacks the means to remove the waste. Ie goldfish fed solely a carnivorous diet develop intestinal issues very quickly.

the waste is higher than the bactetia in the tank can process

Haha sorry I got super confused so by feeding the silverside i am not supplementing what it was naturally eating which was mysis and Reef Roids ...so now is lacking nutrients ?
And also adding more nutrients to the tank

Sorry should have clarified meant the possible variables that i could see feeding an anemone fish would cause tank or inhabitant issues.

My rose use to look a little sad if I didn't give it a good meal from time to time. Just swing by the seafood section at your grocery store if you want to feed it. Ask for a single small raw shrimp (cheapest they have). Feed the nem a nice chunk of meat only from the shrimps tail, then dice up the rest very small, mix with a small amount of TW and feed your LPS (with baster) and fish with flow off. Fed mine about once a month, always looked better the next day.

It's been a bit since I really read up, but silversides were linked with quite a few nem deaths. The conclusion was that as a not for human consumption product, the fish aren't treated with food safety in mind and carry some risk of being spoiled before freezing. I also read that gut examination of anemones showed that they almost exclusively feed on planktonic foods. These two bits of info are the main drivers behind my choice to not feed them anything large. My BTA's might get an occasional squirt of thawed LRS or Reef Roids, but essentially just get whatever floats by in the water.

Only anemones I ever offer silver sides to are carpet anemones from the genus stictodactlya. I have read bad things about feeding fish to other nems like bubble tips and magnificas

I never feed my bubble tips and they do fine. They just feed what they can catch. Direct feeding is not necessary and will cause them to split.

Your question is valid on what you read.

There have been issues the past few years with the silversides thawing in transport and becoming putrid, then refrozen only to be thawed and fed to anemones and several deaths have occurred and reported.

I have ~35 BTA's and only spot feed them once in a blue moon with several cubes of frozen mysis with a drop or two of Selcon in a glass of tank water.

I shut the PH's off and lightly spray them with a clean turkey baster dedicated to doing this.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Upon reading your comments I will ditch them And throw them away I did seee it was spitting out the silver side this morning soo i took it out gently before any critter would Come and yank it out I’ll lleave the silver side for my oscars instead...
I’ll just give it what I feed my coral mysis shrimp with Reef Roids it loves it and always openes up in just a few minutes after eating..
Maybe I’ll spoil it once in a while and add some krill :D I read is also acceptable

Sounds like a plan.

Another treat besides some good ole krill...A couple of times a year I'll go to the deli section of Harris Teeter or the likes and pick up a couple of wild-caught white shrimp...cut them into small pieces and feed them.

I have one a couple of blocks away since I leave maybe like 12 minutes from the gulf shrimp is very cheap maybe like 2 dollars at pound
The thing is they bath them in baking soda to take of the salt idk if that safe

My clown feeds my bta. It will take a chunk of food and shove into the bta.
