Me again… I stupidly moved rock during my water change Wednesday. I didn’t drop, hit, or do any damage to anyone. I literally moved a few pieces so the corals on them had more exposure to the light since they were covered. Of course with me doing that it’s now Friday and I can’t find my sixline anywhere. I have a bunch of caves and hidden places all over for my fish so I don’t even know where to start to look. Is there still hope he’s just scared and hiding or is he sadly gone :(
Could use some advice pls

They don't sand hide. They build mucus cocoons at night to sleep in.
I watch mine go into the sand at night to sleep and then come out of the sand in the morning,he also does this when I add a fish, move a rock or stick my hand in the tank, vacuum the sand or anything else, depending on what I do he could spend the entire day under the sand into the next day where he will emerge from the sand the next morning or it could be a few days or longer if it’s a new tank altogether……

Likely scared as they spook easily. However, it is easily enticed with food and should come out of not today, by tomorrow for feeding

Interesting, most of the literature says they don't sand sleep. I know mine doesn't but there are some sites that say they might hide in sand when stressed. I see his cocoon sack floating around the tank in the mornings.

for mine,I’ve never seen a sack I do know they make them tho,had him a year and it’s always sand for me,it’s funny watching him emerge and trying to convince the wife he was still alive and just wait until the next day,she could not grasp that he would sleep under the sand until she saw it

My yellow coris goes like 40mph nose first into the sand pile. Clouds the whole tank.

Going to try to get another six line, they are my favorite fish :( I loved that little guy. Does anyone know if a sixline and leopard wrasse can be together? This is the wrasse I have now and him and the six line were best buddies :(
Just want to know if they would all workout together the 3 of them.

I bought a leopard wrasse today everything so far is going well. I saw him do the same thing you said your coris wrasse does. The second after he was acclimated he swam for a minute and dug himself into the sand. Haven’t seen him since this afternoon. Since he’s new you think he’ll come out soon? Or will it be awhile?

It can take a day or several days till they feel comfortable to swim around.
