Skimmer excessive long break in

Have a aquamaxx co-3 skimmer on a 150 with 40 breeder sump, started tank with dry rock/sand after a 4 weeks of running still not skimming live stock three tangs two clowns tank been up for a month and half skimmer been running for three weeks, and suggestions (did vinegar bath for 24 hours a week ago still not pulling skim)

Did the tank went through a cycle?
Any readings on Po4 or No3?

Nitrate 20, po4 undectable by salifert test kit i use a marine pure block from previous tank and cured my dry rock for 3 1/2 months

Not really it cycle for a couple weeks fallow use aquaforest bio s before i started adding my fish

Hmmm, did you tried to adjust your flow of the skimmer?

I have it sitting at 8 inch of water i even contact marine depot tbey tell me to give it time, i never had a skimmer tank iver three weeks to start skimming

Ill give it more time, i guesd this skimmer take a lot longer than any skimmer i own in the past

I have 3 Aquamaxx skimmers. They're pretty effective and broke in for me within days. How are the bubbles in then skimmer before getting to the neck near the collection cup?

The bubble seems fine it seems like a beast of a skimmer with tbe bubbles it produces inside the body but just not foaming

I followed your build on marsh mine isnt i remember i have the skimmer where the pump isn't inside tbe skimmer body

Don't know much of the aquamax skimmer.
I have the Lifereef.
There should some kind of valve on the skimmer right?
Does it have a DC controlled pimp?

No it not a DC pump it have the standard gate valve i have it at the neck of the skimmer

Now by closing the gate valve the bibles should rise more in the neck right.

Cool!
Now adjust it that the bubbles will rise and overflow slowly in your cup.
When over time the skimmer breaks in more you adjust the level to your desired skim balance.
