I followed your build on marsh mine isnt i remember i have the skimmer where the pump isn't inside tbe skimmer body

They're basically the same skimmer. Same design principle. I have the CO-1, Q3 and HOB.

If you fully close your gate valve does it overflow into your collection cup? It should.

Also are you running any chemicals or media?

Get to the point of overflow into the cup then back down the gate valve a little so no overflow and wait. Then adjust more later

Not runnimg no chemicals at the moment, going to try this to if i can get some skim in the cup at least thanks
