Skimmer recommendations

I say a system that small to ditch the skimmer and set up a fuge or macro reactor. Less likely chance to over skim the tank and strip the nutrients. I did that on a 40 gal system and ended up with a Dino boom. Fun fun

Nyos and RO would be my 2c worth
+1 Nyos gets my vote, been using them for years.

1st build after getting back in the hobby: NYOS 120 (80 Gallon System)

Upgraded to larger tank: NYOS 160 (160 Gallon System)

This is tough because evryone has their favorites.
Mine is the Tunze 9410 dc. I have one on my 120 and a non dc on my 45 frag/lagoon system.
I would have gone with
Both dc's but got a deal on a used standard.
Tunze skimmers are very underrated imo.
Easiest cup to clean, anti overflow, truely set and forget.
I set my dc on the 120 when I started 10.5 months ago.
Never had to adjust it or even turn it off when feeding, cleaning, or working in tank mounting frags.
Get the DC version its quieter than the non dc.
Ok I like Tunze equipment.
I love my Tunze 9410

I'm new to the hobby but after research I decided a DC skimmer is the way to go. Most are very expensive but I found Coral Box after viewing a video produced by ReefDudes. He highly recommended the Coral Box 700. My tank is smaller so I went with the D500+. Price and feature set can't be beat. Check it out at www.coral-box.com.

Nice skimmers. I ran a 300 on my 25 nano. Now it sits in the garage collecting dust with other equipment lol.

tried growing Cheato, not enough phosphates in the tank it just went grey then white. Green hair algae in the sump is doing well but the lawnmower, Baby yellow tang, and CC keep it clean. Nitrates are at 10-20. Id Rather Skim heavy and feed heavy with intervals of the skimmer turned off so that the corals can still feed on nutrients before it kicks on and skimms them out :D

What footprint do you need? Any particular features you are interested in? What is important to you - sound level, energy efficiency, performance only, etc.?

I've been very pleased with Deltec and Tunze skimmers.

I think the 400i would do nicely; and it's a DC adjustable pump.

Just hooked up my lifereef! This thing is built like a tank and best of all can use any brand pump! If the pump fails I can always just swap it out with a spare mag drive pump to keep it running until I can get another one ordered! Great feature imho!!

What model is that? How big is the footprint?
I have a Synergy CL-26, so not a lot of space to work with.

Talking with a guy from my LFS, I got some 2-part epoxy and put some on the red tube that goes into the skimmer body. Basically narrowing the outlet of the skimmer pipe.
So far it seems to be working pretty good!
