I dont stare at my skimmer for long lengths of time but I am guilty of watching the micro bubbles or small specks in the water. I am normally trying to track them or uselessly diagnose the source.

Micro bubbles and specks?! That is useless....try the skimmer for a while. ;)

P.S. Too much flow through sump maybe?

I'm sure there are more closet skimmer stare-ers out there!!

I'm guilty! And even put three plastic bioballs in the in the main bubble chamber to scrape the the side clean.Watching them tumble is strangely relaxing, and apparently these are not the droids I'm looking for...

Haha....just saw this thread. I remember when I got my BubbleKing. Schminksbro was over waiting for delivery. The both of us stared forever while enjoying a few cold ones.....

Even outside of that, I get stuck staring at the skimmer more than I should.

lol this thread is hilarious. I totally stare at my skimmer until i realize what i'm doing and then i try to be productive like maybe clean the skimmer or feed the fish.

Plus my skimmer is 7 feet tall so at least i don't have to lie on the floor :canada:

I admit. often times i do.

There should be a skimmer watchers anonymous group or something, starting to sound like this is a reefing epidemic!

I'm guilty as well, although sometimes it's more of the sump in general. I attribute it to standard zoning out though. Get some rather profound thinking done at this time. :P

Yes, I'm an addict also! I know the exact water level in the sump by the sound of my skimmer and pumps without even looking. Ummmmm, I get a pillow and lay in the floor at night with the cabinet doors open and watch the activity in my fuge. I have fairy shrimp...lol. And yes, I have fallen asleep there. Don't laugh, you know you do it too!:jaw:

Connie takes the lead by a pillow! (I've got nuthin' for that!) :D Well done!

<*Ahem*>
