I give up, what are you missing? Looks like its running properly. ??

It looks like its running and foaming, but maybe you are missing the little valve that goes on the end of the airline to control the air intake.

The silencer perhaps? Didn't think it controlled air though.

it looks like its working... is it not extracting anything?
was it working at one time then it quit ??
did you steal it and forget a piece ?

ROTF.. No this model does not come with an air adjust.. Hence the crimped air line.. If I open it up all the way, it foams/shoots out the top.. If I crimp it like this it makes a ton of noise and floods the tank with bubbles tons so that you cannot see into it. I took the foam off the outlet because that was clogging up to no end....

I'd leave it alone, looks good from my seat. You just want the foam into the lower portion of the neck, after that let it do what it will do.

How do you adjust the flow through it? It needs a way to either control the flow of water or a way to control the flow of air to get it dialed in...maybe a trip to lowes or an aquarium supply website is in order for a valve of some sort.

Was the foam on the exit or the inlet, should be over the intake.

Try completely pinching off the airline so only water is flowing through it with no bubbles for a while. Then open the airline backup, sometimes when I had a sea clone back in the day this would fix the excess bubbles issue.

OKay the problem is its upside down. Did you guys not pick up on this? lol

Can't you turn the outlet head to close or open the pipe for water flow? Yea, thought that the skinnier pipe on the outlet was adjustable.
That is a EShopps Skimmer?
The EShopps PSK-100H Hang-On Protein Skimmer combines performance and easy installation. Eshopps protein skimmers are designed with simplicity in mind to satisfy the skimming needs of saltwater aquarium hobbyists. The included pump features a needle-wheel impeller that vigorously mixes air and water to create a flurry of waste-removing bubbles. The PSK-100H will improve water quality and oxygen levels in saltwater aquariums. The removable collection cup allows convenient skimmer maintenance and disposal of collected waste material. The adjustment knob fine-tunes water level within the protein skimmer reaction chamber for optimal performance. Quality acrylic construction.

Features:
  • Designed to hang on the back of the tank
  • Height: 23"
  • Footprint: 7" X 7"
  • Recommended tank size: 75-100 gallons

On this model the foam is on the outlet.. Dont ask me why.. The adjustment for water flow is all the way open.. If i close it off any the overflow problem is worse.. Have already ruined the floor and stand directly under the skimmer from overflowing out the top.. As for foam in the lower portion of the neck.. I cannot do that.. The water line is all the way up to the lower rim of the cup. No way to dial it in lower..and even if i pinch the air all the way off. I still get fine micro bubbles.. I am afraid to leave this thing running all day and night to let it "go" as every time I walk away from it for any period of time.. I get burned with overflow out the top and onto the floor. So it has not run consecutive 24 hours or longer..

How long have you had it? New? CLean it out with vinegar and water yet? Break in period?

Ok. But I still say it looks like its doing its job. I mean from that second pic you took, that looks like any normal skimming foaming to me.

. Normal skimmate? I didn't think this was how the inside of my tank was supposed to look.. But back to original.. My airline is not open at all since as soon as I open it,the skimmer overflows onto the floor with a TON of force.

Holy Crap!! We are missing something simple here, I know it. Just can't put my finger on it. Your flow is way to high for one thing. If you turn the flow all the way down, and just open the airline, what does it do?
See, what ya do is, leave the airline open all the way, and close the flow valve off, then slowly open it to get your foam into the neck. Have we done this yet?

Yes.. By turning down the flow and opening the airline hose.. The water level actually goes halfway up into the neck.. The only way to keep water line in check is to open water flow all the way.. And pinch off the air tube.. If not then I get eruptive fomate all over
