Skinning a metal stand

I was just searching around and saw your thread. I also ordered a Miracles tank (60x24x22) with a metal stand that I will be skinning on my own. Did you come up with any good ideas or thoughts that you want to share. I am getting ready because my tank ships out next week. Share some pictures if you can. Thanks

I haven't quite decided yet. My tank is still a couple weeks away so I'm still weighing my options. That said, I'm leaning towards permanently attaching the skin to the frame. It's more work, and I need to be sure I seal all of my attachment points, but I'm just not fond of the idea of a free-standing, or magnetically attached skin.

I get the open look but I can't stand the sight of cords, regardless of how clean the setup is, so it's just not an option for me.
I feel the same way about cords. I used to be an audio engineer so I have a good idea of how to wire manage but I still don't think that my wife would like that much. I am planning on having a false wall that will be inside the stand to mount all electrical items to and then run all the wires behind the wall. I have a call into some cabinet makers in the area and if I come up with something i'll make sure to pass it along. I like the idea of being able to remove the entire skin easily to make things easy to work on but also want doors for most of the time. Thanks for the input

If you want to see some awesome wire management search Broadfield's Red Sea Reefer 450
I will attach some pics from his thread below showing some of his wire management and the false wall idea.

Have you considered velcro strips. It comes in rolls or strips. This would allow easy removal for maintenance.
