Small quarantine tank ????

Number one reason fish die in quarantine: ammonia
- don't rush the ammonia cycle.

Number two reason: Not doing enough research before starting.
- example: If you run copper and prazipro at the same time, the oxygen gets deleted in the water. You need an air stone or major surface agitation to prevent oxygen deletion.

This is the schedule that I use to quarantine my fish.

I should note that I eventually get the copper power to 2.5 but start the clock when it hits 2.0.

Whenever I do a water change, the new water needs the copper to be at 2.0-2.5.

How successful has this plan been for you ?

It’s been pretty good. Using it right now to quarantine another fish.

To be honest, I’m definitely not an expert at quarantining fish. I think buying prequaratnine fish from a vendor that specializes in it is the way to go. I will quarantine my own fish if I find one in the LFS that is extremely colorful/beautiful.

I made that quarantine calendar from the advice I received from humble fish’s website. Humble fish is probably considered the expert in the hobby.

Upgraded the QT and now it’s in service. 10 gallon. No rock. No sand. Ammonia badge on. HOB filter that provides flow and air. It was from a 25 gallon fluval. No carbon. Tank dosed. copper Hanna checker bought. Still need a cover for it. Jumper prevention.
