Small white bugs all over tank and fish.

I just recently noticed an explosion of what I thought were copepods in my nano tank and thought nothing of it. Tonight when I get home from a friends house I went and looked at my tank and my baby coral beauty has white specs all over it and she's not acting herself. I haven't added anything to the tank in weeks. Inhabitants are only the one fish, 3 astra snails and corals. I'll get a QT set up ASAP, fixing to head to Wal-Mart and get a cheapo 5g tank. I need to know what I dealing with so I can get some medicine from the LFS tomorrow.

Don't panic.

You can't see ick bugs on a fish. They don't land on the glass so you can see them.

The pics on the glass are fuzzy but look like cope pods. Cant see if there's any thing else on there that would bother the. Fish like perhaps a hydroid jelly bloom.

Do a FW dip to confirm flukes.

If present, treat with Prazipro.

Yup, check for flukes. she also looks a bit bloated and to have a bit of an infection happening there. Poor thing.

Thanks guys, I haven't panicked yet. I know I have y'all to help out. I'm at Wal-Mart now getting a cheapo 10g tank, air pump and stone now. I'll do a FW dip when I get home. 5 minutes in the FW with an air stone, right? Any need for melafix? They have it on the shelf here.

Just make sure the water temp of the fw dip match the tank temps. Best of luck!

Do you have media covered in bacteria than can be used to cycle the tank in the hob filter?

no melafix. Look to see if they have prazipro, kanaplex, furan2, general cure ect.

Yea I have some filter floss in the tank now that I can use. Its only 3"x3" square but it should have enough for one tiny fish and some water changes.

None of that stuff, I'm lucky they have fish tanks, air pumps and filters mixed in with the dog and cat stuff. No live fish dept in my Wal-Mart... Not that I'd get fish from Wal-Mart anyway.

Good eye... That's also anther thing I'll have to very from the LFS tomorrow.

So, I've got a 10g tank, hob filter, cheapo heater, new net, air pump line and stones.

Tomorrow I'll pick up parazipro and an ammonia badge from the LFS. Time to go home and get this QT set up.

What do I do with my DT if it is flukes. I know with ich you leave the DT fallow for 76 days. Same thing or...?

Alright, I have my fresh water dip getting ready. DT temp is 79, so I match that, pull the heater out so it doesn't accidentally burn the fish then start the 5 minute dip. I've watched videos on FW dip and know what to look for.

What would you call stringy? This is the best Google image I could find of how it's bowl movements look. From my fw experience I thought this was normal...
