First impressions, why didn’t anyone think of this sooner ? Working perfectly as an ATO. I’m in the middle of a move right now so the only tank I have up is a 40g breeder no sump or anything, that being said I can’t really see how it can’t work it’s a pretty simple design. The controller shuts down the ATO during the water change then drains down to the bottom sensor then the controller turns on the pump with the new water and it rises to the top sensor. The end. Very happy with the purchase so far. I think I’ll like even more when I can schedule the changes daily. Right now I have just been toying with it.

Yes, I think I’ll use the 30g Rubbermaid mix the new water once a month due to the fact that I’m happy with a 30g WC per month, 1g per day.

-ATO I have a a 55g Rubbermaid I use for that.

The waste water reservoir will probably just go outside.

The only issue I see is evaporation in the new water, I need an ATO for my new water reservoir lol!

If you have your new water in a Rubbermaid container with a lid on it you shouldn’t have evaporation and if you do I should be minimum nothing to really worry about.

You would want a lid to keep any dirt or any bugs from polluting your water.

It is a great you have room to store so much water for an entire month (low maintenance at its best)

It’s not set up yet, only using it as an ato in a tank in my garage. Just has live rock in it. I will Be soon though just picked up my new tank tonight once we get moved in I’ll be setting it up. Keep you posted on it though.

Does anyone know if the system can be used with bigger pumps that what comes with it? I am trying to automate water changes for a 72-gal tank, but the pumps included with this system seem so small!

You can program it to do however many gallons you want it just might take a little longer. However on a 72g tank I can’t imagine doing anymore than 1 gallon per day. Which these pumps handle just fine.

I’m going to use it 1gpd for a 150g.
