Smoking or vapeing round tank?

Hi was just wondering if anyone thought if smoking or vapeing around ur tank has any effect on anything?

Probably not..... increased CO2 if you’re smoking enough...... increased tank accidents depending on what you’re smoking....

I've always been a firm believer that if it's in the air, it can get in your tank. And with all the stuff they put in cigarettes I wouldn't risk it. Vaping on the other hand, i'm not sure.
But for this reason we don't burn candles, use air fresheners or anything like that. Perfumes and cologne are bathroom applied only, which is on the other side of the house from the tank.

I do... Not intentionally but i have tanks all around the house. I am more worried about the long term effects of the auto spraying fabreeze thing in my living room.

But in all seriousness, unless you are directly blowing it into the tank and trying to mix the smoke for hours/days(lol) i doubt you'll see any noticeable effects.

I vaped for awhile around my tanks never had an issue. But I would definitely wash your hands making sure there is no juice on your hands.

Now smoking the green stuff,eh may just make the corals grow faster with the coral munchies lol.

I vape in my house. I dont allow it close to the tanks because it settles over the water from what I can see. Basically anything that goes in the air isnt allowed in the same room as the tanks.

Haven't noticed any ill effects in the past ~10 years I've been in the game. I also keep a box fan in the window blowing outside with the top half open to let fresh air in.

I have noticed that if a smoke cloud rolls directly under the stand and hits the skimmer intake it will collapse the head for a minute. Never did it on my ASM skimmer but my skimz it does.

Thanks I was just curious as I smoke and vape in the house sometime when the kids are gone but for most part i take it out side. But when I do I see it roll over the tank and didn't think it have any bad effect on the tank.

I never noticed any negative effects I used to smoke in my old house in the living room for a full year the tank carried on thriving, now my tank is at a different house and I don’t smoke in the same room and I’ve not noticed any benefits of not smoking around it either, this could be just situational but I imagine aslong as you have decent air exchange to bring in fresh air either from windows,vents even opening doors you should be okay!
