What's the best method to soak frozen cyclops and mysis, etc. in Selcon and raw garlic?...never actually did it before...suggestions please...

Thaw it out first. Once thawed mix with garlic and vitamins. Let it sit for 3-5min and it'll be ready to go in the fishes.

Okay so I need to know this too. Do you just use like garlic cloves chopped up and mix it with the mysis or just let mysis absorb some of the garlic and then take the garlic out?

I used to use Kents liquid garlic but it is expensive so I switched to garlic powder. The one you use for pizza. It is cheap and easy to use

I've always heard that real, clove, fresh garlic is the best...I just mushed it up, rinsed cyclops, put in tank water and Selcon...I'll leave in 'fridge till supper time...

I also use a liquid. garlic gaurd from seachem its like 6 bucks.

when a fish won't eat for whatever reason, garlic is used. it's not intended to be used every day. I believe it affects the liver over a long period of use. there is no other reason to use it for healthy fish.

Just curious sir, is there any proven facts to back that liver thing up? Would live to know. I always feed with it and send that even with Ich on one new fish, everyone else was able to fight it off and never showed any symptoms. Granted sometimes it doesn't but they looked, breathed, and swam around perfect

Jack Wattley of discus fame has done many, many experiments with garlic...he is the world's authority of discus and seems sure that it wards off ich and other parasites...

Freshwater ich and saltwater ich are two very different creatures...

There have been many many discussions regarding garlic and ich. There is no evidence that this is a "cure" for ich. Just do a quick google search. I am curious about the garlic cloves and/or powder. I never really thought of using that. I only used a few drops of the sea chem garlic as mentioned above for finicky eaters.

Garlic aside.
Consider whats in garlic powder to keep it dry and not cake.
Also Larry @ LRS has a pretty good article on refreezing foods. BTW. worth looking at.

just drizzle it over the frozen. It'll freeze almost instantly.
