Sochting Oxydator D

I don’t have much of a algae issue but I’ve heard good things on this oxydator is it a bad idea to run it without having major algae issues???

i just started running one, the sochting oxydator A. I dont think there will really be any negative results if using the appropriate amount of catalysts and h202 percentage. I would go with the sochting A though and run a lower percentage of hydrogen peroxide if this is for a smaller tank, the sochting d some people have said the design is more prone to leaking but not positive

I ordered and received the D in conjunction having just a 3% peroxide

Also says D is rated up to 26 gallons which I have a 40 breeder. A is up to 106 gallons

Hoping for good responses for corals

Not hoping for a H2O2 leak killing $5k worth of coral..If this happens I might jump off a bridge (which many of you would looooove)

From what I’ve read there’s no ill effect but running that high % of peroxide may be to high. But I’m completely sure. I’ve heard using anywhere between 4 and 6 % but that’s about it

Sorta late to be bringing up this subject....

Does having an Oxydator and dosing phytoplankton be seen as counter intuitive?

Meaning the Oxygen released by the Oxydator aggressively kills off any phyto being dosed?

Pretty important I know what's going on in this arena

Aggressively running my Oxydator and feed a cup of phytoplankton to my corals everyday. I no longer feed my corals anything but the phytoplankton. My corals are thriving and over growing. Have started to trim back and give away many coral frags.

Why do you want to undersized your oxydator? They are extremely beneficial to your aquarium.

The different sizes are just different size containers for the h2o2, the catalyst causes h202 to breakdown and the pinpoint hole at the bottom releases it slowly into the aquarium. The sochting D is just supposed to be an inferior design(quoting others here), so the A makes sense for more people. Fill up the larger tank with 3% h202 and you have a longer time in between filling up the oxydator again. There also is a chart for catalyst to % of h202 for each tank size. Anyone have a pic of this?

Why do you want to undersized your oxydator? They are extremely beneficial to your aquarium.

I guess without me not knowing if using a Oxydator rating up to 100 gallons would be to much lol
