Solid pink spikes on coral skeleton

Hi,

This is the dead skeleton of an alveopora. Could anyone help me identify what theses pink spikes are. They are solid to the touch.

Thank you so much! I checked some pictures online, and I think that's it.
 
Agree on forams and harmless. I longer have it but when i did, loved the effect from lighting. Often confused with cyano
