Well.its all gone if I had to guess id just say it was just some sort of freak slime maybe the sump was just doing its job.

I had something like this the other night in my tank and the only thing different that I do now is I started vodka dosing last week. Mine wasnt floating on the surface though. It was on the glass, all over power heads, and the filter tubing from my filter. Could the vodka dosing cause this.
