I did a little aqua scaping today and for the heck of it just tested my water again after and everything went crazy it seems. I’ll include some pictures of my levels but I did use some gorilla glue gel which seemed fine. Only thing I did dif was new glue

Will it live through the night so I can get water tomorrow? Have so much money into this tank and would hate to lose it all. Never had a problem like this so I have no idea what could happen, just thinking of the worst rn 0B3A0751-C60A-47B7-9893-3C5433B941F0.jpeg

you shouldn't use test strips and invest in some actual test kits. not sure if gorilla glue gel is the ca variant, which if it isn't might be an issue. You will need carbon and water changes

ran out of my actual kit. It’s all I got rn everything closed too

Those test strips are very inaccurate. That said can you tell us the levels as you interpret the strips?

moving rocks around and stirring up sand can move detritus into the water column which can cause things like ammonia spikes and it nitrate spikes.

Looks like ph says 8.0-8.5 can’t really tell, nitrate at about 40, nitrite 0.5. Don’t know if it’s accurate but that’s what this test strip says. Got these probably 2 months ago bc they were on sale for 5$ Lol

Not familiar with them test strips ( and not many recomend to use them) and cant even see what the results are as cant see what it says results are for.
Maybe line the test strip up with the tube but let people see what it's testing as for everyone who not familiar with that test kit ,we just seeing some reds, blues and what they mean I dont know anyway lol

And most important question is what's in tank ?
What you want to survive the night ?

those multi test strips isn't very accurrate. What is the strip testing? How much gorilla glue did you use? I use the reef safe one which is made of CYANOACRYLATE.

the problem is, those strips don't have ammonia and if you have fish you should test for that... otherwise your nitrate is fine albeit high

If you’re worried about how much is invested. Why not insist on a higher quality test kit ?
As something accurate to give as good of idea to what is happening .

I ran out of my good kit

doing this test strip is honestly not going to tell people what is wrong. You need salinity and ammonia. do you have a way to measure those? and what is the exact type of gorilla glue you used

I don't think Gorilla Glue is safe. Here is what google says:
Gorilla Glue is a liquid mixture of a diisocyanate and a polyol, chemicals that react to form a rigid polyurethane polymer when activated by moisture.

CYANOACRYLATE is the only safe ingredient in glue to use.

I would do a large water change, run carbon and some Polyfilter if you have it.

I used this one & a good amount of it.

Not too concerned about those numbers.

there are multiple gorilla glues, which is why I am asking the exact type he used. there are CA gorilla glue gels like this

This has a second active ingredient besides the reef superglue cyanoacrylate. It has ethyl cyanoacrylate. I’m unsure if this is a problem but have avoided gorilla glue for this reason. That said I don’t think it has anything to do with your test results.
