Something Wrong??????

I’ve made about three quarters of saltwater with my last bits of salt and if he looks really bad I will give him a bath in fresh salt water

3 quarters of what?
full tank?
full water change?

if you have a lot of saltwater, do a partial water change, keep some for an emergency bath if needed.

Generally they do this after getting stung by an anemone or hammer coral

He survived the night but is still doing the heavy breathing and kind of perches on a rock
:(
My female clown was doing this after I had a sudden ammonia spike. (Was using API, so as far as I knew, ammonia was 0) She’d fall onto her side, breathing rapidly, then try to swim a bit and fall back over.. I thought she was toast. I did a 25% water change and added Prime; by morning she was back to normal.

Done WC 20%
btw anyone have any suggestions as to what caused this?
Thanks again.
Just to clarify- a 20% water change on a tank that has a 0.50 ammonia level is only going to take it down to 0.40, still in the danger zone. Then, the ammonia level is still likely climbing, negating even that benefit. I’ve seen tanks with no biofilter that had increasing ammonia levels despite 50% daily water changes!
Using Prime reduces the toxicity, but you need to get to the root of the issue- why no biofilter? The tank is only 2 months old, it is easy to over feed a new tank. You didn’t add any antibiotics did you? Had the tank previously tested zero/low ammonia before? You should also test some water that you know doesn’t have ammonia in it (even tap water) just to confirm your test kit isn’t throwing bad readings.

You might consider dosing MicroBacter XLM or Fritz TurboStart 900 which are both LIVE bacteria (must be live given your situation since no time to waste) to quickly augment the biofilter and populate the rocks with beneficial bacteria. As a preventative when doing a water change dose Microbacter 7. Make sure to follow manufacturer's instructions. Best to you.

Ummm our tank is 11 months old
Also we have established live rock and matrix in the back
That’s why I suggested you test your test kit, as something is off here. You haven’t been dosing with peroxide have you?
