Jumpers are tricky. I had to move my jawfish to a qt for treatment from the current qt (fully running) and catching him was crazy. I got him, went to move him with my hand over cup and darn thing wiggled out between my fingers and fell behind the tank. I was able to get him in a few seconds, but crazy things.

Glad your wife has a cool head!!!!

And I agree. You're not an idiot. We all learn lessons the hard way once in a while. I almost lost a fish in a similar manner, but it got caught in my sink strainer. I now drain fish bags into an empty salt bucket.

And there is another way of doing a freshwater dip!! Who needs buckets!! This method cleans much easier.

Wow id be freaking out lol.

The worst i had was my puffer was on the carpet covered in thick slime. Maybe hebwas there an hour. Thought he was dead. I put him in the toilet and he started to swim sort of. Of course i used my hand to grab it out of the toilet and it was gross. Into the tank he went. But he floated to the top. So i had to weigh it down with a fish net until he burped the air out over the next day. He lived believe it or not.

Lucky i didnt flush!

Oh wow...nice save. I have had them come flying out of bags and landing on the carpet. My sixline managed to fly behind the tank into a pile of dust bunnies. Took me a bit to get the tank moved to get at him and the dust kind of dried him out. He was really dazed but made it.
