Spider looking with octopus legs ID please

Hey all,
Found this in the tank today. Have done some research and can’t find. As you can see in pics looks like spider (6 leg) upon further magnification legs have suction cups like octopus. Please help me ID.

that appears to just be a brittle starfish, the leg count confirms it for me. Common hitchikers in most tanks, perfectly safe.

How small is it? What frags or rock have you added to the tank? It looks very octopus like but im almost leaning towards a random starfish?

I recounted and found 8 legs, now I'm really stumped. Can we get a video of it?

Are you sure on the leg count? Can you get a picture of it spread out and crawling?

What did you use to take the pic, a potato, lol. Just bustin em. Clear pic would definitely help out on id.

I agree with the eight leg count. Definitely more than 5 legs which eliminates a brittle star. My vote is octopus

Agree - put it in the tank ASAP and see if it swims. I had a brittle starfish that I thought was an octopus for a second and it didn’t look like that.

We only know of about 250,000 marine species, and there are an estimated 3,000,000-50,000,000 (3-50 million) we don't know of. I wonder if this is one of those. The ocean is enormous.

There are over 1,300 known species, so it's really, really hard to say. So much variety.

I think suckers like that are unique to cephalopods. Maybe get some video of it swimming.
