I had a malfunction with the biocube I had her in. Do I need to move her to QT from the DT?Too much movement in the video but still pics suggest Crytocaryon which is marine ich or mucus cones from ich or skin irritation hence the need for quarantine.
Wasnt this a new acquisition?
Quarantine needed with treatment using coppersafe. These fish are susceptible to velvet and Lymphocystis and quarantine for regal angel is a must.
None of my other fish have anything on themI had a malfunction with the biocube I had her in. Do I need to move her to QT from the DT?
Fish will need to be in Quarantine. Is this a QT tank its in?I had a malfunction with the biocube I had her in. Do I need to move her to QT from the DT?
No DT, my QT tank is a biocube and it had a malfunctionFish will need to be in Quarantine. Is this a QT tank its in?
Yup if treating with copper, if you can’t and gotta leave em in the DT then the whole Humblefish H2O2 regime is the only other real optionI had a malfunction with the biocube I had her in. Do I need to move her to QT from the DT?
I just moved her to the QT, doing a water change on the QT now. If I treat the DT with copper (removing inverts and coral) is there a way to get rid of it when the fish are better and be able to put coral and stuff in again?Yup if treating with copper, if you can’t and gotta leave em in the DT then the whole Humblefish H2O2 regime is the only other real option
So the hydrogen peroxide mentioned, where do you get that? Is it just common stuff used for disinfecting injuries?Yup if treating with copper, if you can’t and gotta leave em in the DT then the whole Humblefish H2O2 regime is the only other real option
The fish is moving around a lot. I saw one spot on the left side of its soft dorsal fin - the blue part. Can you see other salt grain sized spots?I just moved her to the QT, doing a water change on the QT now. I saw a few of them. I moved her to QT to treat with cupramine. Was this an okay move? I just panicked cause I dont want her to die like my puffer didThe fish is moving around a lot. I saw one spot on the left side of its soft dorsal fin - the blue part. Can you see other salt grain sized spots?
If it is ich, the other fish won’t show spots of their own for a few days to even a week or more.
You want to confirm the diagnosis before doing anything drastic.

Im not a fan of ionic copper (cupramine) with a regal. Treatment level for cupramine is .5 and is a little harsher than coppersafeI saw a few of them. I moved her to QT to treat with cupramine. Was this an okay move? I just panicked cause I dont want her to die like my puffer did
Cupramine is not my top choice with angels. Be sure NOT to use ammonia removers in conjunction with Cupramine. You need to dose it accurately at 0.50 ppm.I saw a few of them. Okay Im doing a 10 gallon water change in the QT right now. Already dosed the cupramine. Will that help get it to a safe level? Ive got a copper test kit tooCupramine is not my top choice with angels. Be sure NOT to use ammonia removers in conjunction with Cupramine. You need to dose it accurately at 0.50 ppm.
There may be a continued problem with ich developing on the fish in the DT where this angel was.

Peroxide rarely works and rarely used and what copper kit are you using? So the hydrogen peroxide mentioned, where do you get that? Is it just common stuff used for disinfecting injuries?
I dont have a way to QT the fish from my big display, my only QT tanks are 32 and 10 gallonsPeroxide rarely works and rarely used and what copper kit are you using?
I would NOT dose the display tank with intent to return the inverts to same tank after treatment. The display needs to be fishless for at least 45-60 days. Any coral and inverts can remain in display safely
And seachem copper test kitI dont have a way to QT the fish from my big display, my only QT tanks are 32 and 10 gallons
Seachem is an okay kit. use the 32 bio cube based on space for the QT assuming there is no rock or sand in there which will absorb some of the copper. Also assure any carbon is removed during treatment and increase oxygen. And seachem copper test kit
