Sps and t5's

It's not the mud that does the work. It's the calurpa in the ecosystem method.

Its messy and imo unnecessary. But I guess it depends on how large your stock is and overall goals

Do you guys think that miracle mud would work with an sps system?

Like salty said, it works in conjunction with macro algae. In my sps tank I'm fairly certain I'll end up with a good skimmer and live rock, despite the fancy stuff hooked to the tank. That's it. Carbon, gfo, caulerpa all was overkill for me that caused more harm then good. It depends on how stocked the tank is. If you do a fuge stick with Chaetomorpha. I had a blend with grape caulerpa. I'm fairly certain it throws a toxin that can cause problems.

I've used miracle mud before, with caluerpa, caluerpa needs a substrate because it has roots and needs to hold on to something, cheato is like fine angel hair pasta, it grows but can be messy because allot of it is small strings that end up every where, this is my third tank third time using cheato with a H80 Kessil this time, seems to be fine but also growing allot of algae like an algae scrubber but better in the sump than the display, last time I used caluerpa and mud with a Kessil freshwater light, it took awhile to establish but worked great with allot less mess, my new tank is a Red Sea reefer so I made a section with egg crate and cheato would have rather used mud and caluerpa, imo
