Sps cursed..

Im sorry yall.. just don't understand. And so much information thats conflicting. Until I get the nitrates up a little doesnt seem that im going anywhere with this tank.
ME Amino acid is for ULNS issues that effect SPS. Good luck, SPS is a challenge but rewarding too.

this frag probably got injured... stnd at that spot ... some algae grew on the side ... then the coral healed and started growing but the algae wouldn't let it encrust. Another cause of that particular growth pattern is very often caused by the acropora eating flat worms , they usually stress the acro it would die off on one spot , and after they lay eggs on the dead side of the coral , it grows back like that . So to be safe i would dip it in bayer and inspect for the eggs.
I scrape the area carefully with a razor blade to remove the algae from the Coral. You may need to do this a few times. I had a Montipora with this issue. ( Jedi mindtrick) and was successful.

They look fine to me, sometimes the best thing to do is be patient. Sticks have taught me patience if nothing else.

I just finished a bottle of fuel and I'm going to which to ME amino bc i dose no pox so my nitrate has reached zero and my phosphate is down to .25

I've ready lots of reviews so I'm going to try it.

Those look good to me man ! and just to clarify you run a skimmer correct? and whats the bioload of your tank ? fish/inverts coral

Steve - I agree - your corals look just fine to me. The only one I'm a little iffy about is the one that has its right side irritated or eaten away. If it's a worm hole, just put some superglue to seal the hole and you'll be fine. That's what I had to do with mine.

That one isnt mine.

Ah shucks! I just now noticed that! Didn't even realize you hadn't posted that pic. Sorry for the confusion!

Your sticks look great Steve! No reason to change what you're doing! Keep on reefing! [emoji4]

Steve,...SPS death due to low nitrates is rare and very, very, slow, taking months normally. Things that kill SPS quickly are alk. swings, bleaching from not acclimating to your light, and pest.

If you have a "normal" fish load and are feeding the tank I would not be concerned with zero nitrates.

Alk isnt swinging. No pest that im aware of.. but its getting very light green. And I haven't changed my light levels. I only have three fish in there right now and I did increase the number of times I feed..
