SPS Picture Taking

I'm curious too, post some pics!

Well ... I dont know. You be the judge. I am kind of on the fence with this. I may have simply had too high of expectations. The funny thing about this, is that yes, it does do a good job of removing the blue from the lights ... BUT, that is actually just the problem it seems ... my tyree blue matrix is VERY colored up and blue (it looks great when looking in my tank) but with this lens it looks faded out and lacks color .... this lens does not seem to do a good job with the reds and blues. I also have a pro corals rainbow, and this lens does not to the true color of the coral any justice at all ... the red does not show accurately.

So yah ... after further review and playing around with this ... Im UNFORTUNATELY not impressed. The colors dont look to be very true and the lack of blue and red is just a bummer. Whats the point?

In fact, you tell me. You be the judge. After playing around with the camera settings on my Note 8 that @MJC suggessted, I think these pictures are much much better and give a more accurate showing of the corals true colors.

(Pics to follow here .... )

I am curious about this also. I have a iPhone X and am using a clip I got from a friend local here in Florida. Still working out the details. I wish I could get them sharper in detail.

I did buy this Aquari clip which was a bad investment first. The original filter was orange and half colored.
Only the clip itself was good.

Well, I did take the filter out. The filter is a standard 37mm thread. So I bought on Amazon my favorite 52mm Filter that will fit my Canon macro lens.
Also I did buy an adapter that adapts from 52mm to 37mm and therefore does fit the Aquariclip :)

Now it's perfect for the cell phone !!!

Here some samples of this combo:

Is the new filter a yellow color or orange?

Gel filter on iPhone 6, 12x clip on macro lens, snapseed app (its free) to edit to true color. The macro lens only works on pieces you can get to literally almost touch the glass.. works great for frags.

Anyone put their iPhone X or samsung S8/S9 in the aquarium? I know it can be done but just scared to actually try it.

I use a Fuiji Film XP120 for a lot of my “macro” shots. Of course being a point and shoot camera, you need to find a way to keep it incredibly still. However, doing so gets some excellent shots.

My iPhone X also gets some I credible shots.
Not SPS because I haven’t done it in a while, but here is a picture of some Zoanthids and Clove Polyps I took the other day.

Lol Ya not me its just not worth risking $600+ phone to impress some one on a reef forum.

Has anyone tried underwater pix using a GoPro or something similar in a waterproof enclosure? I have one but haven't tried it yet...

I’ve tried a GoPro with okay success. While it was cool, it couldn’t get those clear and up close shots. The pictures I posted above are with my Fuiji Film XP120 which is water proof. I’ve used it for a lot of my growth progress pictures and even macro shots.
It’s a point and shoot camera, so getting very high quality shots depends on how still you can keep the camera.

Has worked well in my tank aquarium and swimming in the ocean filming fish in Catalina Islands.

Edit:
Here’s the best picture I can find right now. Was taken under Blue LED’s with an Orange Filter, hence the orange tint in the upper half of the photo. But goes to show if you’re able to keep it stable, you can get some great macro shots.
