please post your tank with t5 lighting lets see some color with t5s:tongue:

no one runs t5s only?
looking to see if your ta nk has color running three tanks with t5s and i hate them
i think i am going back to mh to get the color back

If you have good bulbs and good reflectors and still aren't getting color, it isn't your lighting. I would look for a different cause!

Here is mine..it doesnt have a bunch of huge coral...ill put some up close pics of the corals in a few minutes

Here are some of my more colorful collection...this is under the red sea max t5 lighting..i have more corals these are just some

I can point you in two very good directions here. Neither of these are my tanks (and I hope these guys don't mind be posting) but you can read all about two AMAZING T5 SPS tanks right here on R2R. There are many others. I'm not saying that T5's are better than halides...only stating that, with proper parameters and good tank husbandry, it is VERY possible to have a beautiful T5 only tank. Enjoy! : )

SunnyX's tank - One of my all-time fav's and Sonny is a fellow SPS Pro here on R2R.

And Daniel's tank (NVTE) - current ROTM here on R2R. Beautiful tank!!!

wow there is color with t5s keep them come so i dont throw this fixure out

What kind of fixture do you have jerl77? Curious to know your tank dimensions, # of bulbs you're running, and your bulb combo. Perhaps we can help you diagnose what's going on with your SPS. Or if you just want to see some pics, that's cool too...lol

These are a few out of my tank...

Two of my fav's as well....True Tyree Undata and the second is the Season's Greetings (I believe it's also referred to as the Red Hot Chili Pepper Monti as well). Both should be fairly easy to find with some of our sponsors. These both add a LOT of color and they grow quickly!

I have a friend who runs two 400w bulbs and his colors are horrible. I doubt T5's is what's causing bad colors.

my tank is 120 gallons running an 48 inche 8 bulb tek fixure 1 blue plus 2 aqua blue specail 4 antinic plus and one fuji purple i switched to t5 about 6 months ago and they all lost color nothing has change in the tank just the lights when i had mh damm the colors were great now there not as bright and the colors have faded for sure

You may want to think about changing your bulb combo. You spectrum is heavy on the blues. While there is nothing wrong with wanting more of a 20K look to the tank, you need more PAR. Everything else being in order, you would be well served to run something like this - back to front:

Blue +
AquaBlue Special
Blue+
AquaBlue Special
Blue+
Fiji Purple
AquaBlue Special
Blue +

I think you would notice a big difference in your colors with that combo. If you really like the actinic look of your present bulb combo, it would be more well suited for LPS and softies. Acros need light - and lots of it.

ok i try it see what happins is t5 close to mh?
