start cycle the tank-no amonia spike!

My wild collected rock comes from the divers damp with towels over it. Very little die off using visual and smell test. If the same is true of the live sand, I will ask the same question.

Is it possible that bacteria populations were sufficient to consume nutrients from ghost feeding?

The sand was live and completely wet. I add also alot of bacteria from microbact7 and seachem stability. I know that they are not the real autotrophic bcteria but i think helps. I think the nutrients from ghost feeding are gone now because i notice a low nitrite level. I test now the value its 0,1ppm.

Can you get amphipod or copepods?

IMO, your tank is somewhat cycled. I think you should continue adding nutrients. However, you should introduce higher level life forms during this stage. You may not see the algae, but I can assure you there is a biofilm forming on all wet surfaces in your system. Get a few snails to digest flake food. Turn on your lights. Photosynthesis drives everything in a reef tank.

I think it's a god advice and i will start to feed the CUC with some pellets today and a pice of nori tomorow. This week i plan to add first fish also if everything go ok. i will live lights on 8-10 hours from now

I think that is correct. The pellets are designed to be low waste. Go slowly... Feed lightly... Test often until you are sure about how things are going. Start with least aggressive fish that will eat off of the bottom.

I looked up Alesund. You are pretty close to Svalbard. Svalbard is the location where one of my favorite books took place. The name of the book is "The Year Long Day". I really like that book.

Cheers!
