What exactly is that?Could be expelling Zooxanthellae algae.
What exactly is that?
So guessing it’s not a good thing to be releasing then??Zooxanthellae algae is algae that resides within coral tissue. It can give coral it's color. It's a symbiotic relationship between the algae and the coral itself. Through photosynthesis, the algae produces sugars that feed the coral.
Thanks for the comment, and I went and bought a brs doser online, and I’m going with the lowest setting and lowest amount of kalkwasser for now and testing daily to see my parameters, and will adjust accordinglyHi,
Great looking guys. I just wanted to add on real quick . I saw the other threads where you were looking for dosers so I figured I would just ask how you are controlling you dosing. Setting at the lowest may not be correct for the tank. Just looking out so we keep those guys looking great
Will do! All my corals look great as of tonight once I got home so we will keep testing!Sounds good.
Dosing Kalk can spike the KH fairly easily if not monitored. Sounds like your fine, Once you figure out consumption I would test periodically to be sure. The only thing I never liked about kalk was dosing mag seperate.
keep the update pics coming
I have been dripping it in during the light period, and ph has rose just a small amount.Corals will expell excess zooanxthelle/poo, not always sign of stress. Have you been monitoring pH? have you been dripping it during the photoperiod or at night?

Okay will change to night then! If I keep my ph below that will my calcium and alkalinity keep getting higher or no?As long as you dont start creeping above 8.5 you should be fine, however, most that use the drip method drip during the night time for pH stability, as the aquariums pH will naturally decline at night, kalkwasser can help keep it elevated.
Okay will do and just checked ph and it is at 8.2I really think it is algae check out the pictures in the thread I sent. It looks just like what I went through.
