Starting a rock flower garden

I just ordered these 8 rock flower anemones (the circled ones) to add to the one I already have. Since they'll be sent via overnight delivery, I'm wondering if I should slowly drip acclimate them or do a quicker method? I'm thinking float the bags to match the temp, then adding enough water from my tank to double the water volume in the baggies. Wait 20 minutes, dump half and repeat a few times. I'm concerned about waste build-up in the individual bags with them being in them for so long.

i personally don’t do anything but float for temp, then take out of the bag and put in the tank.

I don’t even float to temp acclimate. Just take them out of the bag and put them on a paper towel for 10-minutes so they expel all the water in them. Then add them to the tank. They’re pretty hardy little creatures.

I bought them from Savage Reef in North Carolina. They have an auction, sales and trade page on Facebook. I've been wanting to order from them for over a year but my first tank crashed and I had to start over. They have awesome deals and great reviews. Several of my friends have ordered from them. These were 8 for $200 shipped.

Why would you want them to expel all their water?

If your keeping them in the sand, place them in 1/2” pvc end caps. Gives them a place to pull into and you can easily move them around.

You dont want to introduce anything from someone elses tank water. It seems like a bit of a moot point since they will still be wet when introduced but I guess it limits the odds a bit. That was just how I was told to do it. Not sure its necessary. You could probably just un-bag them and stick then right in if you wanted to. I think drip acclimating them is unnecessary.

I drip acclimate nems of all kinds and they do well with this approach, but it's also clear that it isn't strictly necessary. If you're not acclimating, letting the nem expel all of the old water before adding it to your tank is a good idea as it eliminates any risk of potentially damaging osmotic gradient between the water inside the nem and the new tank water. This also goes for fleshy corals like euphyllias (which I don't acclimate, but do dip.)

If you put the foot of one against a small hole in a rock, and hold the nem there by gently pushing on its oral disc with your thumb for a minute or so, they'll usually hunker down and stay.

My new rock flowers arrived today. They're not fully open yet but they're already stunning.
