Starting copper Tm today n need some more help!

When i do a water change because of ammonia in my 18gal qt how much should i remove? And should i rinse out the sponge as well in the hob filter or leave that alone n just do a water change? Thanks

Just do the water change, don't fool with the sponge as that is your biological filtration. How much ammonia are you seeing?

Ok ill just do the water change and its 0.05 ppm right now on the badge. Should i use the test kit to see how my other parameters are or just worry about thr ammonia now?

Only worry about ammonia in QT. Other parameters such as nitrites, nitrates have no impact on fish until they reach very high levels.

@vedros74 so i tested with the kit today and its still very low. So today i added 2.5 capsules of the copper power n i will retest tom. I will keep adding copper until it reaches around 2.5.

My question is so from the 1st day the test kit actually reads the numbers im aiming for is that when the 30 days count start? And after the 30 day count what do you usually do.

Because i plan on leaving my fish in the qt for about 3 months so my dt can stay fallow.

Yes start your count from when you reach 2.5 normally after the 30 days just continue normal water changes with fresh salt water without adding additional copper to it

Guys so i found my niger trigger -_- it has been stuck in this rock thingy i put in the tank since its been missing and its still alive .

Bad news ... Someone ate my green chromis. I found it in my humus mouth but just its skin. Am i not feeding them enough :/?

And im still having ammonia problem ughh i did another water change today. It seems as if i might have to do a wc every other day. This sucks
