So I noticed that my acro has started to lose tissue at its tips over the past few days. Is it STN and of so what do it do? Will post parameters tomorrow

Alk burn maybe. What is your Alk at currently and what is it usually at?

That looks exactly like it got an alk related burn. Clip em off

How much of a ALK swing is needed to create issues like that?
It all depends on your system. Mine cant tolerate more then .5 dkh or 10-15 ppm. But my other tank can loose 1 dkh without anything getting hurt. A good rule to try an accomplish, is less then a .5 dkh swing a day

Looks to be about the same. Measured the alk and it was with in normal limits .all other acros look fine. I hope it pulls through :(

1 more param to check if this happens. Measure your salinity with at least different tools. The last time this happened was when my refractometer went out of calibration and my salinity was at 1.031 :o

Luckly I double checked it with another refractometer.

So it looks to be slowing down but still progressing, according to my red sea test kit my dKH is 9. Thoughts on what I can do to help it make a comeback? Should I cut the tips off or dip it?

Def clip the dead skeleton off, cut into healthy coral to male sure you went down enough. Keep the water clean and parameters stable and hopefully it'll be ok. It's seriously 50/50 at this point.

What ive learned from having little die off, it takes a little while for the skin to start growing back over it. If i clip into old skin right before the die off, it usually heals and starts to grow right away

....time to fine some clippers to use, any recommendations?

Alk burn is generally related to nutrient levels. If you have low or undetectable no3 and po4 and alk above 8dkh, this number varies due to nutrients, can and will cause burnt tips. Like other have said clip those tips

alkalinity burn in 12 dkh up....how about your Ca cause your sps burn on tip

What happens if you don't clip the tips off?
If theres no skin left, it will start to regrow from the healthy tissue over the tips from what ive seen but takes a little bit of time. If you clip them off just like fragging a coral, the skin will heal and start to grow right away
