Agree if you want to rehome a larger one that works but i was meaning for long term keeping in the tank

I’m gonna stick to melanaurus or coris depending what my lfs has. If the melanurus grows I can return
great. Im sure itll be getting lots of special attention

But make sure you put the needs of the fish first

no, if a fish gets Ich in the wild it’s basicslly immune to it and so with other diseases

Wild clowns more frequently come with brook which kills them due to the stress of being caught and transitioned to captivity. Also most of the larger clowns you want are still all captive bred.

Aquaculture corals are hardy and have only positives to offer.

buying and returning fish is stress of the fish and you said you want lots of hiding spots which probably means tearing your tank apart to catch it.

Think.

Doing coral growing in the ocean is faster and better than in like a frog tank imo. u can frag stuff but don’t get colonies from frag tanks

it doesnt need to be too fine sand, I use fiji pink from caribsea mixed with crushed coroal and my wrasses dive into the sand just fine

i stand corrected. Im sure if you took a picture of your substrate and posted it someone would be able to say if its good or not

growing coral in the ocean can come with pests and shops still chop many up into small frags to sell. Where do you think all those 1-2 head frags of torches come from? A colony that was chopped up.

Also a frag can grow into a colony just fine in a frag tank lol there is more demand for frags then colonies as colonies are expensive and some people like to watch a small frag grow into a colony and know they did that instead of paying to win.

Mariculture doesn’t transition as well to captivity and sometimes we see stuff like brown jelly disease come in and wipe out LPS tanks from a new coral.

It’s fine to buy mariculture and even wild but they do come with negatives and risks of their own.

I agree though dont use flat out crushed coral as that will def not work.

for me it comes down to the fact that aquarium grown corals are already used to aquarium conditions

Wrasse have scales Right? Because I got a eel with no scales in my 40g fresh tank and it has big gravel and it dosent get hurt on it
less about it getting hurt and more about its ability to bury
