Hey all!

thanks to all of you for the support and assistance over the past 2 months!

I ended up just buying my forever tank (I hope) as it was going to allow me the room to do what I want.

that being said as per the title what stocking ideas does everyone have?

my current list is

2 juvi perculas
1 Helfrichi

2 hammers
1 duncan
4 zoa frags
3 fungias

would love some suggestions!!!

Leopards are my favorite, but any fairy or flasher will do too.

I have currently 3 different leopard varieties, a yellow coris, and a pintail. Previously had all them including a melanarus, and a red coris. None picked on my cleaner or peppermint shrimp.

Never have seen a wrasse pick on a shrimp.

As long as you have a lid, literally anything: basslets, dottybacks, cardinala, chromis, dartfish, etc.

I think you missed the point though.....

A well fed fish, will not turn to your CUC. Like I said though, never had a wrasse pick on a shrimp and I've been keeping them together for many, many years.

First thread was debunked as any wrasse the OP had in his tank was way to small to take down a cleaner shrimp. Second thread is possible if the wrasse is not fed well enough. And that is exactly what the third thread stated.

No, you asked me to show you where it said wrasse go for shrimp, I literally sent you them. I also linked you to a website that loves wrasse but said be wary with shrimp.
My only concern is I may want a shrimp down the road, and in aus a cleaner shrimp is $200

I've never seen any of my wrasses go after shrimp, either. That being said, I think if anything is hungry enough it might take a poke at them. I did have a nice arrowhead crab and coral banded shrimp that something took out, but there's at least a half dozen suspects and they all perform other essential duties.

I tend to stick to fish and inverts that i can afford to replace. A $200 cleaner shrimp wouldn't make the cut for obvious reasons.

I look at my cleanup crew as a constant revolving door: I expect losses (mainly snails and hermits) "just because", and simply invest $20-$30 every month to keep the numbers up.

Feed your fish, and this isn't a concern. Also that is one fish in all three threads in many hundreds in the wrasse category.

I personally have never seen my mel take after my cleaner shrimp, snails and my conch's sure(but just flips them over, never eats them), but I also feed my fish well.

That is absolutely insane! And I thought the recent uptick in their price around here(USA) was insane. Heck just a few years back they were like $20 bucks, now they are upwards of $80 in my neck of the woods.

I've seen my parrotfish nip at nassarius snails, but I think he's curious more than anything else.
