I know that this is probably too many fish but do you think this stocking list would work? this is the order I will put them in if the LFS is in stock just mainly trying to keep the tang Chromis and six-line to the end. To reduce aggression from the tang and six-line as well as hopefully getting the Chromis to school being more stressed out having the tang in there already. I am also prepared to return my bristle tooth tang to the LFS when it gets bigger and I see any signs of chronic stress or heaps of aggression. Let me know what you think? Also, I know this is probably out of question but do you think I could make a mandarin work with the tank if I add a refugium and add it 6 months +. Also because the tank could be an AIO without the sump upgrade I could fill the back compartment with some rubble at the bottom and turn the whole thing into a huge refugium if needed to manage bioload and give enough pods. I will be willing to probably take out the six-line if so. Any thoughts appreciated!

2 clownfish
Firefish
Midas Blenny
2 Bangaii Cardinals
One Spot Foxface
Diamond Goby
Yellow Coris wrasse
Longnose hawkfish
Bristletooth tang
7 Chromis
Six line wrasse

So the top section of the tank so display and rear sump is 260 litres which is 70 gallons and have a 15 gallon sump.

Leave the sixline out, he will be a utter terror. Also pick the foxface or tang. One or the other will produce a crapload of bioload and will have to be rehomed eventually.

I'm a huge meh on the chromis, 7 will probably turn into a few quickly, I'd frankly skip them with that size tank.

Edit: I also see a mandarin, don't bother with it for at least a year, it prolly wont end well, unless it eats prepared foods.

Ok I am totally fine with getting rid of the chromis but I just don't have any blue or green fish in the tank so I was planning on chromis and trying to get them to school. Do you have any thoughts on the mandarin then? Just because it will add blue and green to the tank?

I've heard that the foxface and bristletooth are a great team on tackling algae though so I was almost worried they wouldn't get enough algae? So won't it kind of be good for me if they are producing a lot of waste so that algae will still grow for them to eat as well as being able to have a relatively large fuge?

You're going to want to feed both something more nutritious than just the algae your tank grows, like nori sheets

Edit: in a tank that small, I agree you should choose one or the other. My vote is for the foxface.

Yes, I've just heard that they are both happier when they have lots of algae to eat too. They will probably join in on frozen feedings and I will feed them nori. I also have some Omega formula two flakes I think. The one with spirulina and garlic I can give them.

They can do well with the algae. The ultimate plan should be practice good husbandry so that algae isnt a prevalent issue. I'd still recommend one or the other between the foxface and tang and probably lean to a Ctenochaetus tang.

yes, I've seen a beautiful one in my LFS! But I also love the yellow the foxface brings! This is going to be a long decision lol.

I'd really think about the hawk as well. In my experience, they can be bullies.

As for the mandarin, I agree you should plan to wait until the tank has been stable for 9-12 months. You're looking at adding a lot of fish to a relatively small system.

Yes, so I should reconsider the hawkfish? Just though it would bring a lot of personality to the tank with it's "perching and staring". Do you know what fish it would have the most trouble with?
