Hello, i am curious on how fish stores can literally over stock a 50 gallon with over 40 fish when there new shipment comes in and nothing happens how can they control it ik intro a huge amount of fish can lead to velvet and whitespot but how can they mantain it like i am trying to open up a business and when getting a new shipment i will need to over stock atleast a couple of my tanks any tips please

They move number of fish daily/weekly quickly reducing the number you see
I had a full line pet store and in my 20l, there would be 6/7 fish in delivery Thursday and by Saturday… 1 or none until next order

On the weekend I have been to a store where they had bigger than my hand size tangs in about 40l tanks. One in each.

so lets say if i crowd fishes in like a 80 gallon and lets say weekly 3-4 fishes are getting sold meaning they are getting removed from the tank is fine?

They don’t. I think they add re hoping for fast turnover. I can’t see those fish survive there for long. Those tanks are for guppies not for giant tangs
But like if i over crowd a 60 gallon or 50 gallon with 12 fishes or more and reduce 3-4 fish every week is fine ? i will put a 2 tangs ,2 copperbands ,2 small eels, 2 mandrin gobys , 1 cowfish, 2 tiny blue tangs and a small regal tang and maybe a couple of clownfish and i will sell them and maybe every 3 days sell 2-3 fishes maybe less

One of the main components that has a large effect on this, I assume from my own observations, is that they may have the smaller tanks (50 gallon or smaller) plumbed together into a much larger system which alleviates water quality issues at individual level.

The LFS near me has imported purple tangs 3-5" long recovering from HLLE in compartmented acrylic tanks where each compartment is smaller than a 5-gallon tank. The compartments have slots in the side so all water is shared in a large system and also plumbed together through a large sump with huge skimmers and such for efficient nutrient export.

The equipment is usually remote from the actual systems and may not be seen by the customer.

I also think, as others have mentioned, that they rely on the fish being confined short-term and selling and replacing often enough to not lose as many fish due to stress.

I don't think it would be a good idea to overcrowd a single tank. See above about common-plumbed large systems.

Not necessarily as you would likely need to acclimate them into new tank
In store settings, generally the tanks are all connected running off one main source and plumbing system, so tank to tank would not have impact

yeah i totally understand but the fishes aren't staying with me for more then 2 weeks hopefully so thats why i dont want to throw hundreds of dollars on a skimmer and a massive sump when whithn 2 weeks i will barley be left with 2 or maximum 5 fish and they if they dont get sold then i might move them to my display tank but like but like will it be okay to over stock my tank with small tangs and butterflys and clownfish for a maximum of 2 weeks or 3 each tank with a internal filter and every 4 days 10 percent water change

CAN you do it? Possibly. SHOULD you do it? That is up to you... I probably personally would not do it for 2 weeks.

You can just keep it off til the following day, then resume schedule. Don't add the water in the fish bags to your tanks.
I think this is one of the most important advice. Water likely have copper and maybe parasites etc in it.
