Brown looking tubes don’t see them moving ever but pretty sure they are growing

Do you see them anywhere else in the tank? Might be sponges.

It is hard to tell from the picture. Could it be vermitid snails? Google them. If so, a lot of people just pinch them off and cover them in super glue.

It does look like them

Could very well be sponges too. I am having a hard time making it out. They said it wasn't moving, other wise I'd suggest chiton or snails too. ;Hilarious I really am terrible with pictures sometimes.

They are soft bodied. I poked some with a pipet and I could push them back into the hole they came out of. The hole itself seems to be going into the body not just on the top of it. They seem to be trying to grow into the near by rock from their home on the frogspawn maybe you can see that in the upper right . The big ugly on the lower left is a vermintide I dug out in the dip process not trying to I’d that right now

If they are soft, they are most likely sponges. The holes thing throws me off though.

Sponges are typically reef safe and good filtration.

Just means they are not much fun to talk to....

Seriously though do I need to start super glueing these monsters ?

Haha... When I read it at first I thought she was making that same joke too. Then I realized that bore could mean more than making someone fall asleep.

Does that mean they are bad? I have always ignored any sponge I see growing in my tank.
I’ve only heard of coral boring sponges wreaking havoc on wild corals and reefs, not within the hobby so I’m unsure. If the OPs sponges are even boring, again not sure just speculation.

How long have you had this coral and when did you first notice the growths? Have you noticed a decline in coral health or polyp extension? If you haven’t, maybe not cause for concern at all.
Have had for about a week or two now. Noticed the little bumps a week in though maybe was just algae as they were just small bumps. Now they getting bigger and posting now to identify as I’m getting worried.

More pics.

stuck tweezer in one and yes it physically goes inside the body.

coral seems happy and healthy.

I have other euphyllia near this thing. I’m thinking of just pulling it and trashing it so I don’t risk spreading . Is that nuts?

i mean, if they are growing larger they “could” in theory take over the skeleton, I have no idea if that’s possible or if it could even harm the coral. Hopefully someone else can chime in... I wouldn’t trash it yet.

Lol send it to me I'll pay shipping :p

dont trash it. Just super glue over the sponges. see what happens. why kill an animal without knowing it's doomed?

You got a QT?
