Strange tube structures growing off Frogspawn trunk

I’d rather lose one euphyllia than all my euphyllia . Qt full of copper right now hosting some clowns :(
Yeah I can get that.

Looks like a parasite imo

it's definitely eating into or away at the skeleton of the coral.

I don't know any good things that eat away at skeletons like that.

maybe super glue over them and give it a few days, put it on the opposite side of the tank?

Also looks like some other kind of snail or pest on the side of the coral. Sure that's not connected? nvm re-read

I would super glue over them for now... maybe freshwater dip then super glue? At least until someone more knowledgeable comes along, cause those things are new for me.

Lol send it to me I'll pay shipping :p

dont trash it. Just super glue over the sponges. see what happens. why kill an animal without knowing it's doomed?

You got a QT?

Did you ever get an id on your creature?

I’m gonna move it to a bucket with a heater to see if any wizards can chime in. If not I’m nuking it. Unless anyone in SoCal area wants to take their chances

reported to vendor with all images above. They seem to be implying that I caused the holes because the skeleton is so fragile and in 15 years they have never had boring sponges kill a coral and would have rather i returned it to them so they could farm.

I'm new to this hobby but seems like horse **** to me. Oh well, lesson learned.

If you decide to trash it, could you bust open the skeleton before doing so? If it is a coral boring sponge, the inside should be filled with it.

LFS or online? One things for sure, you didn’t cause those holes. Did you throw the coral out? I was also thinking you should break it open, I suspect the base would be filled with sponge goo.
