Awesome build thread... I really like the dimensions. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm currently in Afghanistan and my wife and son are taking care of my tanks. I'll be leaving shortly so it will be good to get back home..

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your fish. Could the tank have gotten too hot one day recently? Anything over 85F will affect oxygen levels dramatically, which would result in fish death while corals survive.

nanoreefbro take care and get home safe. Going to be leaving this place soon as well and can’t wait. I don’t think it was a temp issue as the temp never went past 81. I have temp controlled via the apex and it shuts off my heater at 78 and with the lights by the end of the day the tank gets just over 80. It was sad to have them all die. It was worse for the misses as she was happy that all was going well and then all the fish died in such a short span. Another example of how valuable a quarantine tank is because this happens 2 days after adding the bangiias to the tank. I since had her go out and get a quarantine set up so hope fully I can lessen the chance of this happening again.

Maybe it was an accident via transference, like something toxic on a person's hand when working in and around the tank. Or had a new fish been introduced mere days before this incidence of deaths? Velvet doesn't sit around like a ticking time bomb to hit weeks / months later.

Man honestly tangs are so picky they just die unless your tank is mature I dont recomend them at all. Ich magnets and will crash a tank over night. By a mature tank I mean a couple of years really let everything settle. You have a very nice tank I love the thread I just finished a custom 48Lx14Tx12W It is looking fantastic (to me anyway) LOL But try gobys with a pistol sexy shrimp and harlequin shrimp nice wrasse. just things I have that are very easy. I bet u could go get them tomorrow drop them in and no problems. Anyways just a little input for what its worth.

well have added some more stuff mostly fish but did add this nice h magnifica (ritteri) this pic was from about an hour after adding it to the tank it has opened up more and now is about 6 inches or so across.
