Stung by Torch

While I've never been stung I'm sure it can happen. Anemones usually irritated my wife while they would phase me.

What symptoms are u having ? If severe might be best to see a Dr.

I've been stung by big jelly fish & Portuguese man o' war, while surfing. There stings you'll certainly know about.
Had the Portuguese man o' war, wrap around my neck & face, as well as several other places, & a big jelly between the legs. You don't want to go there :(

man, that's scary. I thought a man o' war could kill a person.

I work on a tank with some huge frogspawns. The only access is from behind the tank, and sometimes when I’m reaching toward the front, the inside part of my bicep will just barely touch one.

Doesn’t matter. Those things are loaded up and ready to go instantly.

The times when I notice instantly, it’s some minor burning and some major itching. But I’ve had some bad ones, including one bad enough to leave some scarring on my arm.

These ones possibly could, but only in unusual circumstances. Once one sucked up onto my stomach when sitting on my board, went into a cold sweat, worse one ever.

These thing blow in close to shore in a north easterly wind,

eventually they end up lying all over the beach

I know its unrelated, but once I startled my tiger shovelnose catfish in my freshwater tank and that son of a gun dug his fin spine a half an inch into my hand. It was the kind of sting that makes you panic! over a couple weeks all the skin around the puncture died and sluffed off too! Never been stung by a coral though!

I have been stung by a euphyllia before. Mine was a hammer, and it was several years ago. It is rare, but it does happen, and it HURTS LIKE HECK! ;Blackeye My hand recovered completely in less than a day, but it did sting pretty good for a bit.

So can they chose to sting when they please? I always considered myself a big baby when it came to handling and using gloves... but now I feel like I’m not missing much by using them

Wow frogspawn and hammer are nice. I actually touch them. Never once have they got me. They might one day.

I ended up getting rid of all of my hammer coral. Every time the back of my hand or arm touched it I had a reaction. I would break out with small red bumps that itched like mosquito bites. They went away after a couple of days.

Sounds different than your experience though.
