Stupid Things reefers DO at least once! PLEASE Read!

IF so then ill at least be Vice president or Co president

I left it on one night and left my apartment and it got so bad that maintenance had to come in and turn the water off while I was still gone. :banghead:

how about turn of the pump to feed.. then the water level in the sump rises causing the skimate to spill into the whole sump.. DOOHH!!!!!

boooooo nothing burn up or no floods make this boring.. next time lie and say the heater blew up and the whole tank died.. makes for a better post

bahaha... it's only a matter of time!

hahahha.. just giving tradewinds a hard time.. but yea lets booooooo together!!

Don't make me get out my flying monkeys...

how about forget to wear goggles when fragging zoas.. theres a million places they can spray their toxins but their aim is as good as a child aiming for your face during a diaper change

Ive done the zoa thing many time.....eye runs for a week....looks like a very bad case of pink eye times 3
One of the worst was feeding frozen food and laying the bag on top of the wall cabinet and forgot about it....few days of that and the smell was bad.....wife was not happy either..she could not figure out where is was coming from

Keep adding salt to tank couse hydrometer keeps saying salt is to low. Took it to lfs and let them test it was reading 10 points off. Now I only use refractormeter and check it once a month.

How about dead snails left in a cup for a week...I think that was the worst smell ever! It was fun having my sister take a big whiff of the cup before I flushed them, though! lol

How about assuming your coral frag will be fine only to come home and a stupid fish or hermit knocked it over, it sat all day upside down, but my most expensive time, I got very lucky and only lost the middle of an ora red goni!

yes this and dead snails are prob the two worst smelling thing in this hobby.. i can take skimmate smell but spoiled frozen food and dead snail is the worst.. i dont know why i always smell it one last time before i throw it away.

I know there has been a few times i have bought a frag from the LFS and come home drop it in the sump to temp acclimate, then go upstairs or go do something only to come down a couple hours later to see how the frag is doing thinking i put it in the tank to find it still floating in the sump. Thankfully no loses from it.

The worst is when you are cleaning the skimmer and you spill the skimmate all over your shoe or shirt.

I think most of us reefers are very forgetful. :-)

How about mixing right in the display tank? Did that a couple times
about twenty years ago when I first started with salt water.

Being careful with my huge acro to remove it from the massive tile it shipped on. Pliers slipped out of my hands and caught them...not the acro. And yes I have a tile floor. Now have 15 acros from the one...and no it didn't shatter the tile it was mounted to. So why did I take it out again??? Duhhh ohhh!!!

how about buying a fish from the LFS and forgetting it in the garage, I was surprised the fish was still alive the next day-luckybonehead
