So I found this. Pretty sure it's not coincidence. I wonder if he came out and Dug little or if he is under that sand

So I was trying to find the worm a few minutes ago and came across the Mantis. Check it out. Now all three are in the same tank this should be very exciting

Congrats Wiz, after all this time you've finally got your bobbit worm!
How's your mantis doing?

bummer. says the video was removed by the user. You should setup some cameras on there just in case you miss it feeding.

Showed that to my significant other and whoa! I'll never do that again. Almost broke my phone when it was slapped out of my hand after a scream. Literal truth. LOL!

Talk about Battle Royale @Wiz !! I hope you are ready to film the beasts; can we make a funny sci-fi B-side (Ok, like D or E-side, but you get the point) film? It would be great fun to edit the videos to make it look like the Mantis and Bobbit are getting ready to face off. o_Oo_Oo_O

Bloody hell didn't realize it was that big .
Really really cool critter
Can't wait for them feeding vids

I am not super familiar with types of mantids. However it does look very much like the same coloring on the back and most of it. But most of the Google images show some red or pinkish and the one I have only has a bit of blue on its face. The rest of the shrimp is pretty much green with that same pattern
Is that a G. chiragra?

Wiz if you feed with hands it will come on your hand to eat
Sorry....Forget the other host

No anyway I had it for 3 years it never hit me and it settled on my hand to eat the food.....love it and looking to find another mine was a pavonis peackok

I would have like a peacock but they are so expensive. I got this guy for twenty bucks.

Yes a very nice blue color on his face. And red arms. And you only see his head most of the time anyway. So it's not that big a deal. I'll save the $60

Speaking from experience and simple facts if it is a chiragra it has the hardest punch of all mantis for its size. I wouldn't put my hand in the tank when I had one, not that I would since you have a bobbit in the tank now. But I`d be worried that if the two did find each other the chiragra might be the winner as I`ve fed my mantis large bristle worms and seen them take down impressive arrays of inverts.
Edit: definitely a chiragra looking at the facebook pictures.

@Lionfish Lair
I've been doing a little bit of reading on the eunice species. It seems that there are several hundred types. Most of which are scavengers and do not cause much trouble. There are only a hundred or so species that are Ambush predators. The king of which and classic Bobbit is the Eunice Aphroditois. I am relatively sure that this is not that species however it does have that same oily Sheen and the large size. I was curious if you had any idea whether or not this may be an ambush species or is a scavenger. Obviously I will watch and try to find out but I thought you may be of some help.

Wiz bobbit name is due to Lorena bobbit who several years ago cut something to her husband
Eunice aphroditois is from Greek without sex
The two are the same....
