Hey there guys and gals! We at R2R want to know what you want to read about. Here is your chance to make suggestions on topics for future articles by our contributors. It can be anything at all, from fish to equipment to DIY to chemistry. We have many contributors and experts that can get some inspiration from your ideas!

So lets hear them! What do you want to read about?

I too like the idea of "reference charts". I would also like seeing some fish "spotlights" more along the Lines of species of fish and their temperament, characteristics, etc. I'm also a fan of quality equipment reviews.

Coral dipping and quarantine procedures, other invert procedures (anemone, snails, shrimp). Seems like I read a lot of threads from people who think they brought in ich or velvet on snails or some other invert.

An all in one fish acclimation (qt) protocol/flow chart, and fish disease identification/treatment flow chart with pictures.
Example for QT protocol: all fish, recommend freshwater dip, plus treat with x. Clownfish, medicate with treatment x for this common problem. Tangs, medication with treatment y for this common problem etc.

How about an article on how to tell a "good" LFS from a bad one? Those with lots of experience know a good one when we see one but so many new people have no idea what is really important when it comes to finding a good LFS. "lots of pretty corals and fish" doesn't cut it! LOL

These are all great ideas! Keep them coming :D

I agree with tips on spotting a good vs bad fish store. A bad store can have a major negative impact on the new hobbyist and the livestock of our hobby. Good advice and close help at startup is vital to succeed in the hobby.

+1 to flow charts. Maybe with the addition of exactly what low, medium and high flow looks like. And how to direct flow for rectangular, square, bow front, and the new drop off tanks.

*Love the idea of species spotlights. In those spotlights include lesser known information, (such as how a species might be somewhat belligerent in a small tank but peaceful in a larger tank).
*Articles on how to encourage bonded pairs for selected species.
*Articles that address common misconceptions in the hobby. Like @evolved's article about the'pairing'of wrasse/that's not how this works - it was great!

+1 on flow. I feel like I can never get it right!

Plumbing would be a good one too with how to account for head loss, size of pumps needed, etc.

I enjoy the new articles section along with the daily emails. Some topics to include equipment reviews and explanations. Maybe a skimmer review highlighting recirculating versus non recirculating. I would love to see examples of Apex and cerbra schedules and programming. In depth articles on ATO options and design. Automatic water changing ideas with equipment lists. As someone mentioned plumbing and head pressure calculations. Maybe even create a separate thread to keep the calculators. Right now there are links to some of Randy's stuff but it's a little bit of a pain to search for them. Overall a great site with a lot of great people. Thanks

A article on different return pumps. Why external is better versus internal ( or reverse) and again maybe a quick spreadsheet of different headpressure with different pumps. Why pressure is different from a schedule 80 pipe to flexible pipe. Filtration specifically biomeciavand do we need all that other stuff ( purigen, Kent chemi pure ( examples)
