Suggestions for affordable protein skimmer?

Yes fish street has it but they want $70 to ship it to fl. That is a rip off. It makes me mad when online companies try to rip you off with shipping. I ship a lot of things for work and that is a rip off.

$70 sounds like the cost if it were being shipped from China, not Jersey.

You'll regret it. I've got one sitting in the closet. Not a piece of equipment you want to skimp on. Those running the SCA, giving positive reviews do so having compared it to nothing else.
Thus I can honestly say, you'll get what you pay for.

I like the k2 - 160 but I don't have $350 to spend on a skimmer. I need to stay close to $200.

Does it have to be a DC pump? If not, look at the Reef Octopus classic space saver 110. I am about to order one of these.

No doesn't have to be DC. But I'm not sure the 110 will be big enough. I have a 90gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump. So 120 in total. I was looking at the 150. But the space saver is a little to much for me.

It's borderline for your needs and I think the non space saver 150 has too big a footprint for you....

I love the coral box d700 but can't find one. Tho only ones I see have a $70 shipping cost and I am not paying 40% shipping.

Has anyone else had experience with the coral box d500?

Coral box and H2Pro are the same thing... they use a Jaboa DC controlled pump and there well made and do a great job from my experience. I have the D300 for the same reason as I didn't have a lot of height in my cabinet and needed the best skimmer i could fit in it. I have a nice big drain off container hooked to it and it fills it up so it does work.

On the d500 I see it is 20 in tall but how much clearance is required to remove the cap?

Im not sure about the d500 but the d700 is about 2 inches 3 max
