Well the ato pump seems to not cut off until the water in the bucket is completely gone.Based on what I read, you have an ATO that is siphoning once the pump is off. That is causing it to dump a huge amount of water into the system that’s causing secondary effects. You need to add an air break to the ATO outlet or use a pump that won’t siphon. Once that’s corrected, the rest of the setup should behave a lot better.

Well it’s brand new I probably should have fiddled with it before I threw it in there. I’m thinking I’m going to try it on my 40 gal aio where I know how the aio works and I can see if the sensor is wonky. It came with a little triangle sensor and a float sensor but I had no idea how to setup the float sensor because it didn’t come with a manual for the float just the little triangle thing. He's clarified that his pump is still running. This is not a siphon issue. This is an issue with the ATO or level sensor(s). Possibly dirty?
Remove the ATO and test it with some buckets to see if you can identify the problem with the sensor, or just replace the ATO.
That’s cool. Yeah, sounds like the ato isn’t functioning properly. He's clarified that his pump is still running. This is not a siphon issue. This is an issue with the ATO or level sensor(s). Possibly dirty?
